Great new project management tool - Codename ProjMan

Having worked on a wide array of software projects in the past, for different employers and clients, I can say that the most troublesome aspect of software development is managing development projects, and keeping track of the progress of each stage properly. Every manager seems to have a different approach - some using 'agile' methods, others using 'waterfall', and others using the JFDI approach. I used to like a product called xPlanner for managing development processes - something I started using while developing a Java project. However, xPlanner itself is Java based, and requires a Tomcat server, which can be a pain for a Microsoft developer. Having been frustrated by the lack of good, cost effective project management tools, I decided to create my own, using the rather amazing power of MVC4 and jQuery. It's been a great project to work on, and I'm pleased with the results.

For now, this new developers tool is called ProjMan, but that is likely to change. I will be setting up a demo site with an installation of ProjMan for all to see, and the first versions are likely to be free - and possibly open source.

Hopefully, other people in need of a project management tool will use it, and find that it makes their lives easier.
